At Rise Relief, we drill our water wells to extraordinary depths, ranging from 40 meters to 155 meters (about 509 feet). To put this into perspective, imagine the height of the Statue of Liberty, including its base, which stands at around 93 meters (305 feet). Our wells can extend nearly twice as deep as the Statue of Liberty’s full height!
This significant depth is necessary because the regions we serve in Benin and Nigeria are incredibly diverse and challenging. The terrains vary widely—from sedimentary areas with hard or tar-like clay to rugged, rocky landscapes. Each of these conditions poses unique challenges, making it both complex and costly to source clean water.
